City of Detroit City Planning Commission The City Planning Commission (CPC) is a nine member body appointed by the Detroit City Council and served by a staff w/i the Legislative Policy Division.

The City Planning Commission (CPC) is a nine member body appointed by the Detroit City Council. It is charged with handling all manner of Development Matters per the City Charter. It serves as the City Planning Commission as defined by the State Planning Enabling Act. It is also the City's Zoning Commission according to the State Zoning Enabling Act and Chapter 61 of the City Code, which is the City's Zoning Ordinance.
