Thanks to all that have signed on to our petition! Fighting with us to get justice for the women that have died at Women’s Huron Valley prison.

However this fight isn’t over. Since the petition has started, there has been yet another death.

We must continue to spread the word. Until every michigander has signed, and this prison is SHUT DOWN!

Each August we’re called to honor the fallen freedom fighters of the Black liberation movement, demand the release of political prisoners, condemn the conditions of the modern prison system, and recommit to the Black liberation struggle.

Join us Saturday, August 29 for a free luncheon with (ah-ee-tee) 🇭🇹🍝 and community discussion centering the writings of Black women political prisoners. We’ll discuss how their struggles relate to the growing movement to shut down Women’s Huron Valley.

Join the Detroit study hub for our Summer School for Socialism! This course hosted by The People’s Forum will bring together
organizers, activists, and anyone committed to building a better future to delve into the question: What kind of society could we build if working people held the power?

We are taking the course here in Detroit and wanted to have a chance to meet up with others in our area to discuss and engage with the curriculum. The Detroit study hub will take place at 4800 Woodward Ave, providing a space for participants in the local area to gather and discuss the course together over its 5 week run from 7/21 to 8/20. We will hold screenings of each class on Tues and Thurs from 6:30PM - 8:30PM.

The people are not allowing Trump and the billionaires to have the final word. We are speaking with one voice and saying no more illegal wars, no more ICE, no more police violence. We need to defeat the attacks from the Trump administration, but we can’t just go back to the status quo either. So we must take to the streets and let it be known that we have the power to turn this system inside out in our favor. We need to fight right now in massive numbers and with total determination.

Our immigrant neighbors are hunger striking in ICE detention, our tax dollars are being used to bomb schools in Iran and neighborhoods is Lebanon, and police continue to kill with impunity. All while our cost of living goes through the roof. It’s never been clearer that this administration is waging a war on working class people at home and abroad!

Hundreds of people held inside the North Lake ICE facility, the biggest in the midwest, have started a hunger strike demanding safer conditions and an end to cruel legal obstacles keeping many in captivity with no end in sight.

Minnesota showed the way when they defeated the ICE surge terrorizing their communities by shutting it down and going on strike! We stand in solidarity with the striking detainees and this May 1st we must join them and answer the call for a national shut down! No work, no school, no shopping!
