Dangerous heat arrives today and will last through the July Fourth holiday. With high humidity, it will feel like over 100 degrees in many parts of Massachusetts, including Devens.
Follow these safety tips:
Try to avoid spending time outdoors in the afternoons, when temperatures will be highest.
Wear light-weight, light-colored clothing.
Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade.
Know the signs of heat-related illness and call 911 for emergencies.
Never leave pets or children alone in a vehicle.
If you don't have air conditioning at home, check with local officials or call Mass211 to find available cooling centers.
