If you don’t tell the story, the story gets told for you. Most times, that story isn’t 100% accurate though! This is what our hard working crews look like after a fire at 2am! 2 volunteer members, 2 paid members (1 was taking the picture). Working side by side and didnt go home until the job was done!

You call and we show up. Day or night. Rain, sleet, hail, snow, hurricanes, floods, tornados or sunshine. Regardless of your gender, ethnicity, political stance, race, love interest, living situation or monitary status. Your emergency means it is time for us to go to work. All of our training has led us to these moments when you need us the most.

The very next shift firefighters worked a cardiac arrest for 20 minutes until an ambulance was available. It was a very busy day for EMS but the calls don’t stop just because you’re busy, or tired, or hungry, or need to use the bathroom, or just had a rough call. Instead, the EMS crews stage outside of the fires at 2am to have our backs while we fight fire, God forbid we need them.

We laugh, we cry, we break bread, eat ice cream, we talk about mental health, life and hobbies and we have each other’s backs. We are family. We are human. We will always be there for you.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped with everything for today’s drop off in Kerrville today! More to go next week to include not one but TWO travel trailers for some of the first responders!

They are still accepting everything for donations; feminine products, hygiene products, paper products, clothes, shoes, outdoor tools, etc.

We are still collecting donations at the fire station this week! Please continue to help support our neighbors!

Fire family and community members,

The folks up north of us have received a terrible blow. If you have anything to donate, please bring it to the department so we can get it to those in need. If you need it in your daily life, they need it too, as they have lost everything. Any nonperishable items would be appreciated to help in their recovery. Please pray for those who have lost family members, homes, and livelihoods.
God bless America and those serving in harm's way.
Together, we are better.
