Pennsylvania families are already paying the bills, property taxes, groceries, gas, and everything else that keeps getting more expensive. They shouldn’t have to make up the difference while massive data centers get another special tax break.

In 2021, Rep. Melissa Shusterman sponsored the data-center tax-break bill. Now it could cost Pennsylvania taxpayers up to $2 billion by 2031. That’s money that could go toward real property-tax relief for homeowners and stronger communities, not another giveaway to Big Tech.

Congress has a 10% approval rating. Nine out of ten Americans look at the institution that decides what their healthcare costs, what their electric bill is, and whether their kids can afford to live near them — and say it isn’t working. That doesn’t get fixed in Washington. It gets fixed here, by voters who know exactly who they’re sending and why.

So on Tuesday, October 20, I’m hosting the Voters First Forum in West Chester. What this isn’t. This isn’t a stage-managed debate. Nobody is producing it. There’s no script, no approved question list, no marks to hit, no clock running out while you wait for a real answer. Congresswoman Houlahan has agreed to a debate with pre-submitted questions and no audience in the room. I’ll be there, and I’ll take it seriously — I want every opportunity I can get to put information in front of voters, and I don’t believe a candidate should get to pick which questions he answers. But a produced debate and a room full of your neighbors are not the same thing. I’ve invited her to this one too. Her chair will remain open.

Why I’m doing it. Because this is home. My mother taught at West Chester East. My kids go to school here. Whatever this seat decides lands on my street the same way it lands on yours. And the things that actually matter aren’t the ones being shouted about on cable news. They’re the ones sitting on your kitchen table — the premium that went up in January, the electric bill, the payroll for the six people who work for you, whether your daughter can afford to live in the town she grew up in. Washington has gotten very good at arguing and very bad at answering. You deserve better than that. And you deserve to be in the room for it — not talked at about it from a stage.

🚨 Debate Information from Marty Young, Candidate for Congress in PA-6

Marty Young and Congresswoman Chrissy Houlahan have agreed to debate on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 12 noon. The debate will be moderated by the League of Women Voters and held at Berks County Television (BCTV).

Marty is also hosting an Open Forum on Tuesday, October 20, at 6:30 PM in West Chester, giving community members an opportunity to ask questions and hear directly from the candidates. Congresswoman Houlahan has been invited.
