Community Invited to Celebrate OHCE Week 2019
Oklahoma Home and Community Education groups of Washington County invite the community to participate in several activities celebrating OHCE Week, the first full week in May. Come join us and learn about the service projects and educational opportunities that membership in OHCE offers.
APR to Mid-MAY: An OHCE Week display showing various items and pictures from past to present in celebration of 105 years of affiliation with the OSU Cooperative Extension Service is now on display at the Bartlesville Public Library. Check it out!
TUESDAY, May 7: Barn Quilt Painting Technique by Carolyn Davis, Penn ‘N Tux, at 10:00 a.m., MUTUAL Girls Club, 3401 Price Road, Bartlesville, OK (west of Food Pyramid and Fire Station). Come learn about and enjoy a talk on these beautiful patchworks on our prairie!
THURSDAY, May 9: Purse Workshop by Margaret Mayhew, Home Builders, held at the MUTUAL Girls Club, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Class size is limited; a workshop fee of $15 covers pattern, wooden handles & lunch; attendees need to pre-purchase some items from a list to be provided after fee is received. Please register by May 2, pay fee and receive supply list at the OSU Extension Office, 205 E. 12th St, Dewey, OK (west of Dewey Schools) .
FRIDAY, May 10: Sewing Workshop - Do you like to sew? Bring your scissors, sewing machine if you have one, and join us in making Comfort Pillows and Boo Boo Bears. There is always cutting out fabric, machine sewing, stuffing, a little needlework and a whole lot of talk and fun going on! This is an ongoing workshop, always open to the community and sponsored by the OHCE Family Issues Committee. Come to the OSU Extension Center Conference Room in Dewey, 9 a.m. to noon. Then in afternoon – join us in delivering Comfort Pillows to Hopestone Cancer and Support Center and Boo Boo Bears to Hospital.
