40 Participants Selected for SLI’s Community Resilience through Small & Rural Libraries Pilot Training
The Sustainable Libraries Initiative (SLI) is thrilled to announce that 40 participants have been selected to engage in the Community Resilience through Small & Rural Libraries: Building Partnerships for Impact pilot training program!

The program will result in up to 40 library-led initiatives to mitigate or adapt to climate hazards and stronger relationships between libraries and local community-based organizations through partnership development. Considering ways to integrate the National Climate Action Strategy for Libraries (NCASL) into daily operations, the pilot process will inform the refinement of a scalable training model to help libraries find practical ways to apply community resilience strategies.

Participants will work with SLI trainers and in collaboration with their state cohort throughout the training over the next six months. They will identify focus areas and potential partners, scope an effective project, and initiate or complete the implementation of their plan. The four states where the 40 libraries are from include: Iowa, New York, California, and Massachusetts

This pilot program was developed with support from the Mellon Foundation through the award of SLI’s “Operationalizing Community Resilience: Creating a Training and Partnership Model for Libraries” grant.
