The Dexter Police Department is currently hiring for a full-time patrol position. Applicants with prior law enforcement training and experience are preferred. Applicants must be 21 years of age (or 20 years old with at least 60 college credit hours). Lateral transfers are encouraged to apply.
Duties include, but are not limited to, enforcing state and local laws, proactive crime prevention, patrol of the Town's streets, traffic control, and local ordinances.
The Town of Dexter provides 24-hour coverage, 7 days a week.The successful candidate will be required to pass the Maine Criminal Justice Academy pre service tests, possess a valid driver's license, and have no criminal record or serious motor vehicle history and pass an oral interview, extensive background investigation, polygraph, psychological and medical exam.
They will also need to meet the minimum standard physical fitness requirement of MCJA.
