A Marginal Risk for severe weather exists across most of northern and central Arkansas from Friday afternoon and is expected to continue into the overnight hours. Strong to severe storms are expected to develop over this period capable of damaging wind gusts and large hail.

The Swifton Fire Dept. Is receiving a matching grant and funds for construction of an add-on to station 1

Don’t forget, sirens will be tested today at 12pm. No emergency or severe weather is occurring. This is just a test.

Over the last several weeks, I’ve had people ask about the tornado sirens no going off like they did in the past.

Beginning Monday August 3rd at 12pm Noon we will be testing them on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month. (weather permitting)

Portions of north and northeast Arkansas have been placed in a Slight (2 out of 5) Risk for severe storms Friday afternoon into Friday Night. The main hazard with these storms will be damaging winds gusts.

ARDOT is joining AASHTO and TETC to support the "Check Your Height, Know It's Right" campaign, reminding drivers to always check posted bridge height signs before traveling. Bridge clearance signs provide the most accurate information and can help prevent costly and dangerous bridge strikes.
