COMMUNITY GATHERING LOCATIONS OPEN

Due to the continued risk of severe weather, the following Community Gathering Locations are now open and will remain open until 8:00 PM, or later if weather conditions dictate the need:

πŸ“ Dickinson – DSU Student Center Basement, 900 Campus Drive
Pets allowed in kennels; service animals welcome.

πŸ“ Belfield – St. Bernard's Parish Center, 404 3rd Ave NE
Pets allowed in kennels; service animals welcome.

πŸ“ South Heart – Saint Mary's Church, 207 4th St NW
Pets must be leashed or in a kennel.

πŸ“ Richardton – Richardton Abbey, 418 3rd Ave West
Please use the east door entrance to access the basement. Pets allowed.

Attention Gladstone and Taylor residents: Due to logistical limitations, community gathering locations are not available in your communities at this time. If you choose to relocate, please utilize the Dickinson or Richardton locations.

Remember, if a Tornado Warning is issued, it is generally too late to relocate safely. If you choose to use a community gathering location, do so during a Tornado Watch or before storms arrive.

Please bring your own water, snacks, medications, phone chargers, and any supplies you or your family, including pets, may need. These locations are community gathering locations, not staffed shelters, and are being provided as a safer option for individuals without access to a basement.

We will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as needed.

Safety Post: Upcoming TFR

Please be advised that an upcoming TFR will be posted on July 1st within the Bismarck/Medora ND Region

The Inner Core (10 NM Ring) will NOT PERMIT any General Aviation Aircraft under any circumstances

From the 10 Ring to the 30 NM Ring, VFR and IFR flights are permitted as long as they are on a filed flight plan AND squawking a discrete beacon code

All other aircraft flying VFR, not on a filed flight plan, not in radio contact, and squawking 1200 are NOT PERMITTED

Remember, it is imperative to check NOTAMs prior to flying. Let's do our part together to prevent airspace violation. Fly safe.

πŸš’βœˆοΈ Annual ARFF Recertification Training Underway at Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport βœˆοΈπŸš’

Tomorrow , June 9, 2026, Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Regional Airport is conducting its annual Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) recertification training. This important training ensures our airport personnel remain prepared to respond quickly and effectively to aircraft emergencies, helping maintain the highest level of safety for our passengers, crews, and community.

Training is being conducted by ARFF Specialties and includes the use of an aircraft fire simulator powered by propane, allowing firefighters to safely train in realistic emergency scenarios.

If you are driving by the airport tomorrow and notice flames, smoke, or emergency vehicles operating in the area, please do not be alarmed. This is a planned training exercise and there is no threat to the public.

We appreciate the continued dedication of our ARFF personnel and thank ARFF Specialties for helping provide this valuable training opportunity.

✈️ US Army Air Corps Commemoration Flight Stops in Our Community πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today we had the privilege of welcoming the US Army Air Corps Commemoration Flight as part of its nationwide journey honoring the 100th Anniversary of the U.S. Army Air Corps and the 250th Anniversary of America.

The commemorative flight features a replica Curtiss JN-4 β€œJenny,” one of the most iconic aircraft in aviation history. Assigned to Langley in 1917, the JN-4 served as the primary trainer during World War I and helped pioneer early air-to-air and air-to-ground radio communications.

As this historic aircraft travels to all 48 contiguous states before arriving at Langley, Virginia, it serves as a flying tribute to the generations of men and women who have served our nation through aviation over the past century.

We are honored to have been a part of this remarkable journey and to help celebrate the rich history and legacy of military aviation.
