The Dickinson Optimist Club is affiliated with Optimist International with the purpose of helping the youth within the Dickinson Independent School District and involved with the positive activities benefiting the Dickinson community. Our Optimist Club is autonomous and run by our own community members. Affiliated with Optimist International, our club practices the "Friend of Youth" motto with pro
jects and activities. We have the unique flexibility to serve the youth of our community in the way we see fit. Dickinson Optimists pledge when joining the club to uphold the Purposes of Optimist International to develop optimism as a philosophy of life; to promote an active interest in good government and civic affairs; to inspire respect for law; to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; to aid and encourage the development of youth in the belief that the giving
of one's self to others will advance the well-being of man, his community and world. We hold dear the tenets of the Optimist Creed written by Christian Larsen, which we have memorized and recite at our meetings. The Optimist Club of Dickinson seeks to excel locally and at zone and district levels. We have an enthusiasm of a new club and treasure our Optimism in the present and future. This website is a vehicle to contribute and support the plans, visions, successes, and celebrations of the Optimist Club of Dickinson to benefit our community and beyond.
