Dunn County residents, thank you for the opportunity to work for you. I will hit the ground running with the issues you’ve given to me during my campaign.

Congratulations also to my fellow new commissioner, Dave Olson!

I’d like to sincerely thank Cody Behner and JoAnn Marsh for their time in serving Dunn County.

DUST ABATEMENT & ROAD STABILIZATION
This is my stance on use of magnesium chloride on gravel roads. As the current Road superintendent in Stark County, I fully support the use of mag chloride to not only control dust, but it’s proven very important for the stabilization of gravel roads.

Residents that live along mag treated roads will see a decrease in dust, but may see an increase in mud when slow rains occur. That’s probably the number one complaint I receive. I do believe that the benefit outweighs the temporary inconvenience.

In terms of road stabilization, mag chloride is a valuable tool to minimize pot holes, blading frequency, and general maintenance of the roadway. Mag chloride can be reactivated by moisture in the air so reapplication needs to be timely and closely monitored to not get too much on the road making conditions worse during rainy periods. Every gravel accepts mag differently.

If you have comments or questions, give me a call. I’m here to listen to your concerns. BE HEARD!

My family and I put an entry in the Dunn Center, ND Independence Day parade. We had a little bit of time before line up so we toured the town. What a cool park and clean town! Hats off to City of Dunn Center and the residents!

I want to thank everyone who reached out and made a point to sign my petition to run for Dunn County Commission.

My wife and I attended a couple of community update meetings where LoAnn Roshau and Sally Whittingham provided valuable information from their respective Dunn County offices.

One question brought up by residents was having evening commission meetings- While I personally believe it may not be practical to hold meetings in the evenings every month, we should stop citing overtime costs as the primary reason for not listening to the people of Dunn County.

Consider how an evening commission meeting might affect you in terms of family dinner, sitters-homework-bedtimes for kids, school events, church events, sports leagues, caring for loved ones etc. If you still want Commissioners to consider holding evening meetings, please let me know your reasoning along with any ideas on what can make this work.

Words can get twisted when someone hears a statement and then stops listening to the rest of the comment.

In a community meeting on February 4th in Marshall, ND, with Dunn County Communications Director and current Auditor, I spoke about right-of-way issues and how they are completely halting several road projects in Dunn County. I mentioned that if not resolved, the only alternative to obtaining right-of-way from a landowner is exercising Eminent Domain (the power to take private property for public use) and I continued to state that I have NEVER had to do that in my 20 years with road development projects and I do NOT agree with having to do it. I suggested that issue was something I could help the county with as a Dunn County Commissioner.

I’m always willing to answer your questions and clarify what you hear. Do I speak perfectly every time, no, but I do have good intentions in seeking your support for this position and take serious the responsibility it takes to represent the residents of Dunn County.

My parents, Andy and Pauline Heiser, played a crucial role in shaping my values through their emphasis on honesty and integrity, which they imparted to all 8 of their children.

People who know me will tell you I’m a straight shooter and have the courage to stand for what’s right. I do my own thinking and will make decisions guided by sound judgement, common sense, and feedback from the people.

With 45 years of experience in the road construction industry and a successful buffalo and cattle ranching venture, I bring a wide range of seasoned insight and expertise to the position of Dunn County Commissioner. I am committed to using my skills and knowledge in building and maintaining roads, project planning, budgeting, and proactively working with landowner matters to benefit our county's infrastructure and residents.

As a native of Dunn County and lifelong resident of North Dakota, I understand the values that make our community and state strong. I believe in the importance of truth, integrity, and hard work, and I am eager to bring these principles to my role as County Commissioner. With my extensive background in construction and livestock, I am confident in my ability to effectively represent and serve the people of Dunn County.
