On the podium again!

Congratulations to DHS senior Trevor Crutcher on his 6th place finish in the 3200 meter run at the IHSA State Track Championships. Trevor ran the two miles in 9:42 today. Last season, Trevor was 8th in this event.

He also competed in the finals of the 1600 meters, where he finished 10th in a star-studded field.

Thank you for representing DHS so well the past four years, Trevor. Thanks to his performance today, the thousands of spectators in attendance from all over the state heard the PA announce "Dieterich" and "Movin' Maroons" many times over.

This year, our National Honor Society had the wonderful opportunity to become Pen Pals with residents of the Newton Care Center. NHS student, Jacey Hayes, took the initiative to organize and coordinate this awesome experience, and we are incredibly grateful for this!

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Newton Care Center for partnering with us and matching our students with Pen Pals. This month, some of our students had the chance to visit with their Pen Pals and other residents at the nursing home.

A heartfelt thank you to the Newton Care Center for their partnership and especially to Susie for the beautiful gifts and kindness shown to our students.

School Record Alert!

According to our team of historians and statisticians, Trevor Crutcher's time of 4:28 in the 1600 at the IHSA State Track and Field Meet eclipsed the previous record by one second. That's a fast mile!

Trevor will be in the state finals of both the 1600 and 3200 on Saturday at EIU.

Go get 'em Trevor!
