With possible storms this weekend just wanted to remind everyone where the storm shelters are located
HEALY
*Healy Methodist church basement enter in front doors and go down stairs on the left
*Across street from the Healy church is a storm shelter building it is handicapped accessible.
DIGHTON
* United Methodist Church basement enter east doors of the education building go west down the hallway to the water fountain turn south and you will see the marked basement door. The light to the basement is right inside the door on the west wall.

Heads up for Sunday, April 26th 🌩️

Models have the forecast environment being VERY favorable for strong, potentially dangerous storms Sunday afternoon/evening. These Sunday storms have HIGH bust potential. While the atmosphere will be primed, whether the storms can overcome initial obstacles will determine if the storms form. If so, very strong and dangerous storms are possible.

A Red Flag Warning is in effect today for southwest and central Kansas. Gusty southwest winds combined with ongoing dry conditions will create critical fire conditions. Any open fires could quickly spread and be difficult to contain.

A strong cold front will race through southwest Kansas early Sunday morning. North winds Sunday will be intense, averaging near 40 mph with gusts of 60-70 mph. Areas of blowing dust and difficult travel can be expected.

Do You Smell Smoke? Northeasterly winds have brought smoke (emanating from wildfires along the I-80 corridor in Nebraska) southward into portions of the Tri-State Area this morning (Friday March 13, 2026).
