MassWildlife's Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program

The Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program is responsible for the conservation and protection of hundreds of species that are not hunted, fished, trapped, or commercially harvested in the state, as well as the protection of the natural communities that make up their habitats.

DRAFT Priority Habitat Map Public Comment Period:

In accordance with the Massachusetts Endangered Species Act (MESA), M.G.L. c. 131A, and its implementing regulations (321 CMR 10.00), beginning on August 5, 2026, the Division of Fisheries & Wildlife will hold a sixty (60) day comment period for the public to review and submit comments on a proposed updated version of the Priority Habitat map.

The Town of Dighton welcomed the newest member of the Highway Department last night. Alvaro Millan Magana was appointed by the Board of Selectmen as an Operator Class 1.
