Huge thank you to BCE for the delicious meal this evening!

Tonight, Brush Country Embroidery had the honor of providing dinner for the Dilley Volunteer Fire Department during their weekly training.

DVFD also invited Dilley Medics, Constable John Rodriguez, and the on-duty officers from the Dilley Police Department and Frio County Sheriff’s Office to join them. It was wonderful to see so many of our local first responders gathered around the same table, enjoying good food and fellowship.

These men and women dedicate countless hours to training, serving, and protecting our community, often sacrificing time with their own families to be there when we need them most. Providing dinner was just a small way for us to say thank you for everything they do.

We are incredibly grateful for each of our local first responders and proud to be part of a community where the people who serve us also support one another. Thank you all for your dedication and service! ❤️🚒🚑🚓

Update - DVFD is en route to the Dilley Helipad on FM 117. Please use caution in the area.

🚨 DVFD is currently on scene. Please use caution in the area, slow down, and watch for first responders and emergency vehicles. Avoid the area if possible.

At approximately 4:00 p.m., DVFD was dispatched to the area of Highway 85 West, CR 4885, and CR 4899 for a commercial vehicle that was fully engulfed in flames. The fire had also spread into a nearby grassy area.

DVFD crews arrived on scene and successfully extinguished both the vehicle fire and the surrounding grass fire. The scene has been fully mopped up, and all DVFD units have returned to the station.

We appreciate the Pearsall Volunteer Fire Department and Dimmit County Fire Department for remaining on standby and ready to assist if needed!

The Dilley Fire Department is currently responding to a fire off County Road 4670.

If you are traveling in the area, please slow down and use extreme caution. Watch for firefighters, emergency vehicles, and Frio County law enforcement personnel working along the roadway.

This evening at 10:03 Dilley Fd was paged out for a large grass on cr 4450, units arrived and more resources where requested due to size of fire. At this time fire is contained and guys are mopping up. Thank you to the departments that assisted us on this fire to contain

Shortly after 12:48pm tones went out for a grass fire between Dolph Briscoe and Core Civic. Units that responded to fire advised that it was moving fast, additional resources were called in to assist to contain this fire. Outstanding job to all agencies that assisted us to contain this fire and to make sure that both facilities where not in harms ways. As of 7:00 pm this fire is 100% contained with 40 acres that have burned, no exposures were lost just land as of tonight.

🛑 PUBLIC SAFETY ADVISORY 🛑
January 28th, 2026 - 5:30 am

The Dilley Police Department would like to advise our community that you may see a larger presence of Law Enforcement personnel in the area today.

This is part of a planned multi-agency operation, coordinated out of an abundance of caution relating to several posts on social media. These circulating posts reference several groups planning a demonstration / protest towards a local immigration facility.

Several members of the US Congress are also set to make location this morning & hold a press conferences throughout the day as well.

The City of Dilley Police Department would like to advise everyone that we’ve coordinated along side all local, state & federal agencies in the immediate area to ensure a safe & peaceful day in our community for visitors & residents.

Please be mindful Frio county is still under burn ban no burning

Wildfire activity across the state is expected to increase this winter and spring as above-normal vegetation dries and becomes highly flammable.

The dormant wildfire season, during winter and spring, is typically characterized by fire activity that occurs in freeze-cured grasses and increased wind speeds associated with passing dry cold fronts.

Above-normal grass growth across much of Texas in 2025 will support increased wildfire potential into early spring 2026.
