Language is a critical piece of who we are as native people.

Less than 24 hours until the kick-off of the Indigenous Language Summit, and we couldn't be more excited!

For those who were unable to join us in Naknek, the keynote speakers and dance performances will be 𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐃 on the Bristol Bay Borough School District's YouTube Channel.

Friday's keynote speakers are Yup'ik computer scientists Christopher Liu (Egalaaq) and Lonny Strunk (Alaskuk). The pair founded Yuarcuun Technologies, which creates online language resources and apps to promote Alaska's indigenous langauges. They'll begin their remarks at 10 am.

Togiak's Imarpigmiut dancers will begin their performance at 2:30pm; it will run until 3:15.
