Officer Blankenship and PD admin assistant Danielle completed (aka barely survived) their very first 1/2 and 1/4 Murph this morning! Strong work guys!
The “Murph” Challenge is a workout created in honor of Navy SEAL Lt. Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005 during Operation Red Wings. Originally called “Body Armor,” it became known as “Murph” after Murphy, who considered it one of his favorite workouts. The full challenge includes:
🏃♂️ 1-mile run
💪 100 pull-ups
💪 200 push-ups
💪 300 squats
🏃♂️ 1-mile run
…all while wearing a weighted vest or body armor.
Today’s scaled-down versions still gave us a serious appreciation for the physical and mental toughness behind this challenge. Most importantly, Murph is about remembering and honoring the sacrifices made by our military heroes and those who gave everything for our country. 🇺🇸
A HUGE shout out to everyone who takes on this challenge each year — full, half, quarter, or anywhere in between. You all are incredible! And thank you Topo Fitness for pushing, encouraging, and surviving it with us! 💥👏
Wishing everyone a wonderful, safe Memorial Weekend!
