Thank You to Beaverhead County High School students! They came with teachers and did yardwork for Dillon Public Library! Plus cleaning children's toys. (And battling the ornery lawnmower and w**d whacker) So appreciated! Librarian/Artist/college student Beatrice Penn is working on a piece of art to thank the high school. Can you guess what it will be?

Presentation with Montana Empowerment Center
"Strengthening Families with Children with Disabilities". Children with disabilities are 3-4x more likely to be abused.

Learning Objectives:

1. Deliver high-quality, useful and relevant information that participants can immediately apply in their work with families and schools.

2. Deepen participants’ practical understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), including key rights, processes, and requirements that impact students and families.

3. Clarify and elevate the role of Parent Training and Information Centers (PTIs), ensuring participants understand how PTIs support families, collaborate with schools, and improve educational outcomes for children with disabilities.

This is a presentation in conjunction with a grant received from Montana Children's Trust Fund. The grant allows authority figures to present information that brings awareness of Child Abuse and Neglect to our community. The public is welcome to attend, and there will be light snacks provided. An activity will be available for children that come with parents/guardians.
