ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE – MAIN STREET

The west half of Main Street remains on schedule for roadway work beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

Closure Schedule
• The west half of Main Street will be closed beginning at 7:30 AM on Wednesday, June 3.
• The roadway is expected to remain closed through the work period and reopen sometime Thursday afternoon, June 4, weather permitting.

Pavement Striping
• Final pavement striping operations remain scheduled for Friday, June 5, 2026.
Important Reminder
For the protection of the new roadway surface, motorists and pedestrians should not move, drive around, or bypass barricades at any time. The treated surface requires approximately 24 hours of curing time after application. Driving on the roadway before it has fully cured can damage the new surface and may result in additional delays or repairs.

Please follow all posted detour routes, use caution in the work zone, and allow additional travel time while construction activities are underway.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as these roadway improvements are completed.

We did things a little different this year for our Officer of the Year. Instead of honoring a specific Officer, we recognized a group of Officers.
Every year Officers are required to complete mandatory training that includes but is not limited to: Fi****ms, Emergency vehicle operation, defensive tactics, use of force and deescalation.
The Dillsboro Police Department depends on outside agencies to complete this training. We receive assistance from the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department, Lawrenceburg Police Department, but specifically Aurora Police Department.
This year’s Officer of the year is the Aurora Police Department training division that includes Sergeant Matthew Hountz, K-9 Officer Jason Turner and Officer Kevin Seigel.
Sgt. Hountz has been with Aurora PD for 9 years. He instructs Emergency Vehicle Operations and Fi****ms. He is married to Cheyenne Hountz, and they have two children, Alaina and Jackson.
K9 Officer Turner has been with Aurora PD for 8 years. He instructs Emergency Vehicle Operations and Taser. He is married to Kayleigh Turner, and they have three children, Liam, Boston and Ava.
Officer Siegel has been with Aurora PD for 6 years. He instructs Defensive Tactics and Fi****ms. He recently retired from the U.S. Navy and has a daughter, Savannah.
The Dillsboro Police Department is thankful for our working relationship with Aurora Police Department.
Thank you and congratulation Sgt. Hountz, K-9 Officer Turner and Officer Siegel!
