Has your child ever seen a close-up of a dinosaur's eye? Here’s their chance to make their very own!

Join Miss Bre in the library for this exciting, hands-on workshop. We will be using air-dry modeling clay, marbles, and markers to design a realistic, colorful dinosaur eye. It’s going to be a unique, one-of-a-kind keepsake for your child to take home and add to their collection!

•Ages: Geared for kids ages 6–11

Cooks & Books: Summer Picnic - July 23rd at 6:30 PM! 🧺☀️

Ready for a relaxing evening outdoors? For our July Cooks & Books gathering, we are hosting a good old-fashioned picnic right here in the library’s beautiful Reading Garden!

We are sharing this a month in advance so you can save the date and start planning your favorite summer recipe. For July's picnic, we just ask that you bring along:

•A lawn chair to keep you comfortable.
•Your favorite picnic dish to share with the group (and the recipe, if you have it handy!).
•One of your favorite books. It doesn't have to be a cookbook—just bring any book you love and would like to chat about with friends under the shade trees.

We can't wait to catch up over good food, great company, and wonderful books. See you there, Dillsburg!

Our summer adventures are going strong, and we have a fantastic week of learning, creating, and playing lined up for you!

Important Notes for This Week’s Programs
We have an incredibly busy calendar, so a few quick reminders to help everything run smoothly:

Registration Reminders: Events marked with an asterisk (*) require registration. This includes Water Before Time, Happy Birthday America...and Me!, and Kids Craft Night. Register at: https://events.yorklibraries.org/

Minecraft Night: No registration is required unless you would like to reserve one of our library iPads to use for the evening!

Paint Night in the Garden with Jenn Fundraiser: Registration for this event was highly limited. If your plans have changed and you can no longer attend, please take a moment to remove your name from the list so someone on the waitlist can take your spot. As a reminder, the $30 registration fee is due at the event (we accept cash, checks, or credit cards). Feel free to bring along a small snack! Every skill level is welcome for this wonderful library fundraiser.

Can you believe it has been a whole decade?! 🏛️✨

Ten years ago today, on June 20, 2016, we officially packed up our downtown location and opened the doors to our current home here at 204 Mumper Lane!

Over the last 10 years, this building has been filled with so many wonderful stories, shared memories, community programs, and, of course, countless books. We are incredibly grateful to have such a supportive community to grow with.

If you haven't had a chance to visit us at this location yet, or if it's just been a while, please come on by and check us out! We'd love to say hello.

Roar into adventure! 🦖

We are heading to Coover Park on Thursday, June 25th from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM for a massive dinosaur hunt, and we would love for you to join us!

First, we’ll kick things off with a fun dino story with Miss Sue. Afterward, the kids can set off on a scavenger hunt along the Disc Golf course to see if they can track down and collect all 9 hidden dinosaurs!

A few quick things to know before you come:

•Who: Built for ages 6 and up (no registration needed, just show up!).
•What to bring: A lawn chair or blanket for story time, and a bottle of water for the half-mile hunt.
•Where: We're meeting outside at Coover Park (201 N U.S. 15). If you aren't sure where to turn, check out the giant orange arrows on the map below! It’s right on the southbound side of Route 15, across the highway from Locals' Market.

A huge thank you to the Dillsburg Jaycees, Friends of Coover Park, and the South Mountain Trolley Greenway for partnering with us to make this happen.

(Note: If the weather doesn't cooperate, our rain date will be Thursday, July 2nd at 10:30 AM).

Happy Birthday, America...and ME!
June 24 at 10:30 AM

America is turning 250 this year!! We are throwing a big birthday bash here at the library, and your little ones are invited to help us celebrate!

We would love for you to join us on Wednesday, June 24th at 10:30 AM for some festive story time fun. It is geared for children ages 0 to 8, and we will have interactive stories, songs, games, and a hands-on craft as we help America blow out 250 imaginary candles.

If the weather behaves, we plan to gather outside on the lawn, so please feel free to bring along a lawn chair or a cozy blanket to sit on. If it decides to rain, don't worry—we will just move the party inside to the children's room.
