Yesterday’s incident in Lexington may have turned out to be a hoax, but that does not mean the fear, stress, and emotional impact were not real.
In situations like this, crisis does not always show up immediately. Sometimes children, parents, school staff, and even first responders may seem fine at first, only to feel anxious, unsettled, emotional, withdrawn, irritable, or overwhelmed later. That can be a normal response after a stressful event.
Jacob’s Ladle wants our community to know that support is available. If your child is having a hard time processing what happened, if your family feels unsettled, or if you simply need someone to talk to, pray with you, or help you think through next steps, we are available to offer compassionate chaplaincy presence and basic crisis support.
Sometimes early support can make a real difference before stress grows heavier.
