We are currently experiencing an outage of our phone line 804-469-4550 and our magistrates line 804-265-1605.
If you need the Sheriffs Office or magistrate you can call our Communications dispatcher line at 804-469-3755 or 911 if you have an emergency.
The outage lines are being worked on and we will provide update when repaired.

Thank you to everyone who came out last night to “Tip -a -Cop” hosted by Giuseppe’s pizza.
We appreciate everyone’s kindness and generosity and were able to raise over $1000 dollars to support the wonderful Special Olympics program. Thank you Giuseppe’s for hosting such a worthy cause.

Tomorrow night (Friday), Giuseppe’s in Dinwiddie will host the “Tip-a-Cop” program starting at 6pm. The address is 7022 Boydton Plank road, North Dinwiddie.
Tip-A-Cop is a charity fundraiser where law enforcement officers act as celebrity waiters to collect donations for the Special Olympics. Please stop by, enjoy a delicious meal, and leave a tip to support the Tip-a-Cop program. It is great cause, and is appreciated by the young people who participate in the Special Olympics each year. Thank you for you support and kindness.

Last night unexpectedly, Investigator Terrell Coles K9 partner “Black” passed away at home.
Black was strong and courageous and was always ready to answer the call for service.
We will miss his enthusiasm and attention to detail of the job he was chosen to do.

We would like to inform the citizens that the Board of Supervisors has formed a committee to address target shooting in Dinwiddie County.
A meeting will be held Monday April 27, 2026 at 6:00 pm at the County Administration building. If you are interested, we encourage you to attend.
The Administration building is located at 14010 Boydton Plank road Dinwiddie Virginia 23841.
