Thursday night’s 🔥 training included familiarization of Electric vehicle fire suppression gear and proper placement of the EV fire blanket.

Prior to the start of EV training, the department placed “Divernon” placards on their newly purchased equipment (IDNR grant) to identify our gear. This is helpful when on mutual aid calls with multiple departments and lots of moving pieces.

Attention!: We are actively seeking volunteers for both the 🚑 and 🚒!

Thank you to the generosity of the community, the DFPD received close to $625 to put back into it! Special thanks to all that helped out including the children that came up with the idea!

New equipment received thru the IDNR 2026 grant we received. Forestry hose, rescue ropes, battery powered leaf blowers, battery powered scene lights, drip torches for control burns and 12 sets of boots.

Attention High School Students: We’re getting ready for the next chapter of our Jr Firefighters Program for school year 2027! 👨‍🚒🇺🇸🧑🏻‍🚒

This FREE program introduces the basics of both fire science and lifesaving techniques with classroom instruction as well as hands on!

Requirements:
✅High School Student between ages of 15 to 19
✅Resident of the Fire District, IE Divernon, Glenarm
✅Motivated
✅Team player
