During National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we want to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank all of our Webster County telecommunicators for the incredible work you do each and every day.

You are the calm in the chaos—the steady voice on the other end of the line when someone is experiencing one of the worst moments of their life. Your dedication, professionalism, and compassion do not go unnoticed. While much of what you do happens behind the scenes, the impact you make is felt throughout our entire community.

Every call you answer, every decision you make, and every second you spend helping others truly matters. You are the critical link between those in need and the help they depend on. Your commitment to serving Webster County is something we are deeply grateful for.

Thank you for your long hours, your strength under pressure, and your unwavering dedication to keeping our citizens and first responders safe.

We appreciate you—not just this week, but every single day.

Happy Birthday, 911. 📞🎂

On February 16, 1968, the first 911 call was placed in Haleyville, Alabama — launching a simple idea that changed emergency response forever: one number, anywhere, for help.

In the decades since, 911 has grown from a single phone line to a connected safety ecosystem — powered by the professionals who answer the call and the technology that supports them.

Today, we celebrate 58 years of 911 — and the people behind it, then and now. ❤️
