On this National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, the City of Dixon proudly recognizes and honors the brave men and women of the Dixon Police Department and law enforcement agencies nationwide for their unwavering dedication and service to our community.

Law enforcement professionals work tirelessly daily to protect and serve, ensuring that Dixon remains a safe and welcoming city for all who live, work, and visit here. Today, we pause to say thank you to these officers and their families, who sacrifice so much in the line of duty.

“Our officers embody courage, compassion, and commitment to keeping Dixon safe,” said City Manager Jim Lindley, “We encourage all members of the community to join us in expressing gratitude for the work they do every day to enhance the quality of life in our city.”

We invite Dixon residents to show their appreciation by:

Displaying a blue light or ribbon outside your home.
Sending a note or message of thanks to our local police department.
Thanking an officer when you see them around town.
On this day, and every day, we stand with our law enforcement officers, honoring their service and remembering their sacrifices.

Dixon Police Seek Assistance Locating Missing Juvenile

On January 3, 2025, the Dixon Police Department received a report of a missing juvenile, 13-year-old Clarissa Miguel-Brown. Clarissa was last seen walking northbound on Pitt School Road from West F Street. She recently moved to Dixon and is unfamiliar with the area.

Clarissa is described as a Hispanic female juvenile with long brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 5’6” tall, weighs approximately 150 pounds, and has a tattoo of the letter “K” on her wrist and a heart on her knuckle. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, red and white plaid pajama pants, black shoes, and carrying a black backpack.

At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that Clarissa’s disappearance poses any danger to the community. However, the Dixon Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating her to ensure her safety and well-being.

If you have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact the Dixon Police Department Investigations Unit at 707-678-7070. For after-hours assistance, call 707-678-7080.

Your assistance is greatly appreciated as we work to ensure Clarissa’s safe return.

As families and friends gather to celebrate the holiday season, the Dixon Police Department reminds all residents and visitors to prioritize safety on the roads. The joy of Christmas and the spirit of giving can quickly turn tragic when drivers fail to act responsibly.

This holiday season, we urge everyone to be vigilant, sober, and cautious while traveling to and from celebrations. Whether you’re heading across town or across the state, making safety your priority can save lives. Holiday Traffic Safety Tips:
1. Don’t Drink and Drive – Plan ahead by designating a sober driver, using a rideshare service, or arranging alternative transportation if you plan to consume alcohol.

2. Follow Speed Limits – Roads can be busier than usual, and speeding reduces reaction time, increasing the risk of accidents.

3. Avoid Distractions – Put your phone away and focus on the road. Texting or scrolling can wait until you’ve safely arrived at your destination.

4. Buckle Up – Make sure everyone in your vehicle is wearing a seatbelt, no matter how short the trip.

5. Drive Defensively – Watch out for other drivers who may be impaired, distracted, or rushing.

6. Plan for Weather Conditions – Rain, fog, or slick roads can make driving more hazardous. Allow extra travel time and drive cautiously.

Increased Patrols This Season. To enhance public safety, DPD will increase patrols throughout the Christmas holiday, focusing on impaired driving and other dangerous behaviors. Officers will be on the lookout for those who fail to obey traffic laws, ensuring that everyone on the road is as safe as possible.

Celebrate Responsibly

Chief Robert Thompson encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly this Christmas. “The holidays are a time of joy and togetherness,” said Chief Thompson. “Let’s ensure that we protect our loved ones and others by making responsible choices on the road. A little caution goes a long way in preventing tragedy.”

A Reminder to All
If you see a drunk driver on the road, do not hesitate to call 911. Your action could save lives.

Dixon Police Department Relaunches Bait Package Program to Combat Holiday Package Theft

With the holiday season upon us, the Dixon Police Department is proud to announce the relaunch of our highly effective Bait Package Program. This proactive initiative targets “porch pirates” who take advantage of the increase in package deliveries during the holidays.

The program involves deploying GPS-tracked packages in areas identified as theft-prone. When a bait package is taken, officers can swiftly respond to apprehend suspects and send a clear message: Dixon is no easy target for package thieves.

“Our goal is to protect our community and ensure a safe holiday season for all residents,” said Chief Robert Thompson. “This program, combined with public awareness, is key to reducing these crimes.”

Tips to Prevent Package Theft

While the Dixon Police Department works to deter criminals, we encourage residents to take the following steps to protect their deliveries:

Schedule Deliveries: Arrange for packages to be delivered when you are home.

Use Alternative Delivery Options: Consider using secure delivery lockers or having packages delivered to a trusted neighbor or workplace.

Install Home Security Systems: Doorbell cameras or motion-activated cameras can deter theft and help identify suspects.

Track Deliveries: Use tracking notifications to retrieve packages promptly after delivery.

Request Signature on Delivery: Requiring a signature ensures packages are not left unattended.

Report Suspicious Activity

If you witness suspicious activity in your neighborhood, please report it to the Dixon Police Department at 707-678-7070. For emergencies, always call 911.

Together, we can keep our community safe and ensure everyone enjoys a joyous holiday season. For updates and safety tips, follow the Dixon Police Department on Facebook and Instagram.

Early Morning Arrest in Dixon Burglary Investigation

At approximately 4:00 AM this morning, Dixon Police officers responded to reports of a burglary in progress on the 900 block of North Lincoln Street. Upon arrival, officers reviewed surveillance footage from a nearby residence, capturing an unidentified individual loading gun cases into a vehicle. Officers quickly identified the vehicle’s make and model and relayed this information to neighboring law enforcement agencies.

Through coordinated efforts, members of the Vacaville Police Department located the vehicle in their city. Following this discovery, a search warrant was executed at a Vacaville location associated with the suspect, leading to the recovery of items connected to previous thefts reported in Dixon, including several vehicle break-ins reported by Dixon residents.

The vehicle’s driver, identified as Isaiah Luna, 44, of Vacaville, was taken into custody and faces charges of burglary and possession of stolen property.

The investigation remains active, and there is no current threat to public safety. We encourage anyone with relevant information to contact the Dixon Police Department at 707-678-7070 or [email protected].
