Dixon Ambulance District serves approximately 150 square miles surrounding the City of Dixon. The coverage area includes areas in Pulaski, Phelps and Maries County. The ambulance district responds to approximately 1300 emergency and non-emergency calls each year and staffs (2) Advanced Life Support ambulances. Our ambulances are dispatched through the Pulaski County 911 Communications Center. Dixo

A belated, but certainly not forgotten, EMS Week thank you to Gascosage Electric Cooperative!

They generously provided a gift card that was used to purchase lunch for our crews during EMS Week. Unfortunately, the food disappeared so quickly that we never managed to get a photo before everyone dug in!

Another incredible EMS Week surprise for our crews today from Country Mart!

They treated our staff to a literal cart full of food and goodies for lunch — pork steaks, all the fixings, desserts, and more!

We are incredibly thankful for community partners like Country Mart who continue to support the men and women serving our communities every day.

🚑 EMS Week 2026 🚑

This week, we celebrate the most valuable asset of the Dixon Ambulance District — our staff.

Day and night, holidays and weekends, our crews continue to answer the call with dedication, compassion, professionalism, and commitment to the communities we serve. Whether it’s a critical emergency or simply being there for someone on their worst day, our personnel continue to make a difference every single day.

We are extremely proud of the team we have built and thankful for the sacrifices they and their families make to keep this service running 24/7.

You may see us celebrating this afternoon during our annual EMS Week Fish Fry as a small way of saying thank you to the people that serve and the families that support them.

Today, we had a family stop by the station to personally thank our crews for the care and compassion shown to their loved one.

As a token of appreciation, they bought pizza for our crews — but more importantly, they shared kind words and heartfelt gratitude that truly meant a lot to all of us. Moments like these serve as a reminder of why we do what we do.

EMS is about far more than just responding to emergencies. It’s about caring for people and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives with compassion, dignity, and respect.

To the family: thank you for your kindness and for taking the time to stop by today. Your words and generosity were deeply appreciated by our crews.
