This weekend, we had the honor of welcoming back the men who built this department.

Our firefighters hosted our retirees for breakfast at the station — swapping stories, sharing laughs, and reconnecting generations of the DFD family. This is more than a meal… it’s about honoring our roots, learning from those who came before us, and keeping the bond strong.

Proud to say this is the start of a new DFD tradition — one we plan to keep going for years to come.

Today, Dixon Truck 81, alongside Benicia Engine 10, is staffing Fairfield Fire Station 37, to allow their crews to be with their family’s and one another as they honor their fallen brother Engineer Chris Bell

It’s an honor and a privilege for us to help our brothers and sisters today, allowing them the time to grieve, remember, and say goodbye.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bell family, the Fairfield Fire Department, and all who loved him.

What an incredible week!

From the first night to the final stop, the Dixon Firefighters Santa Run was made special because of this community. Thank you to everyone who came out, waved, cheered, shared smiles, and supported us along the way. Your patience, kindness, and continued support truly mean more to us than you know.

If you happened to miss Santa during the neighborhood runs, there’s still time!

Tonight at 6:00 PM — rain or shine — Santa will be at Pardi Plaza for photos. We’ll also have hot chocolate, our famous hot apple cider, and freshly made kettle corn for everyone to enjoy.

From all of us at the Dixon Fire Department, thank you for making this holiday tradition so special. We’re proud to serve such an amazing community.

****ROUTE UPDATE****

Due to Santas Regular Sleigh (antique fire engine) being out of service and being in his back up (Ladder Truck 81) we had to update our routes for the homestead neighborhood due to access.

Santa Run continues tonight at 5:30 PM in the Valley Glen and Homestead neighborhoods.

We sincerely apologize for last night’s mishaps and appreciate everyone’s patience. We’ve addressed the issues and should have everything running smoothly for the remainder of the week.
