🚒 MUTUAL AID RESPONSE TO OSSINING 🚒

Last night, shortly after 8:00 PM, the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department was dispatched to relocate an engine to Ossining and provide coverage for their district while Ossining firefighters operated at a 4th Alarm structure fire.

Shortly after being dispatched, Engine 47 and 2091 were redirected to the scene to assist the companies operating at the fire and provide relief to crews.

Our members assisted with opening up the side of the building and extinguishing hot spots as crews worked to bring the incident under control.

Members operated on scene for approximately 5 hours before being released and returning to Dobbs Ferry.

But the night wasn’t over. Shortly after returning to town, our members answered three additional calls in Dobbs Ferry overnight. 🚨

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Elmsford Fire Department, as well as the family and friends of Ex- Chief Steve Woehrle during this difficult time. Ex-Chief Woehrle passed away in the line of duty while operating as Chief of Department for the Piseco NY Fire Department. It was our honor to serve along side of you Chief.

We ask for your prayers for our EFD Ex-Chief Steve Woehrle, who has passed away. Chief Woehrle most recently served as Chief of the Piseco NY Fire Department.

We are deeply grateful for his unwavering commitment, leadership and service to both departments. Chief Woehrle’s courage, dedication and selfless service will always be remembered. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Gayle, daughters, Lisa & Katelyn, and their entire family during this incredibly difficult time.

May Chief Woehrle rest in eternal peace. 🖤❤️🖤

Last night, members took to the streets of Pleasantville for their annual Firemen’s Parade. Hours of hard work and preparation paid off as Engine 47 was awarded Best Appearing Pumper.

The Village of Dobbs Ferry is excited to announce that the Memorial Park Spray Pad is now open! Starting May 29th, families can enjoy a fun, refreshing, and FREE way to stay cool all summer long.
The spray pad is open daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering an exciting space for kids to splash, play, and beat the heat.

This weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

On this Memorial Day, the members of the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department extend our deepest gratitude to all who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy every day. We also remember the families and loved ones who carry their legacy forward.

The Members of the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighters Marty O’Leary, Andrew Radomski, and Kola Rukaj on successfully completing the New York State Firefighter 1 curriculum.

Over the past several months, these members balanced responding to calls, attending in house trainings, keeping up with school, and working all while dedicating themselves to completing this demanding program.

NYS Firefighter 1 is a 129 hour course that combines classroom academics with hands on practical skills designed to prepare firefighters for the challenges they may face. Their commitment, hard work, and determination throughout the process are a reflection of the dedication it takes to serve our community.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the instructors and staff who dedicated their time, knowledge, and experience to training the next generation of firefighters. The countless hours spent teaching, mentoring, and preparing these members for the fire service do not go unnoticed, and we greatly appreciate everything you do for the fire service and our communities.

Congratulations, Marty, Andrew, and Kola . Keep training, stay motivated, and stay safe.
