Last night, members took to the streets of Pleasantville for their annual Firemen’s Parade. Hours of hard work and preparation paid off as Engine 47 was awarded Best Appearing Pumper.

Thank you to all of our members for their dedication and hard work, and to everyone who lined the streets to support all of the departments throughout the evening!

This weekend, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

On this Memorial Day, the members of the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department extend our deepest gratitude to all who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy every day. We also remember the families and loved ones who carry their legacy forward.

Please join us in taking a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

⚠️ Due to inclement weather, tomorrow’s Memorial Day Parade has been moved to the Dobbs Ferry High School gymnasium and will begin at 11:00 AM

The Members of the Dobbs Ferry Fire Department would like to congratulate Firefighters Marty O’Leary, Andrew Radomski, and Kola Rukaj on successfully completing the New York State Firefighter 1 curriculum.

Over the past several months, these members balanced responding to calls, attending in house trainings, keeping up with school, and working all while dedicating themselves to completing this demanding program.

NYS Firefighter 1 is a 129 hour course that combines classroom academics with hands on practical skills designed to prepare firefighters for the challenges they may face. Their commitment, hard work, and determination throughout the process are a reflection of the dedication it takes to serve our community.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to all of the instructors and staff who dedicated their time, knowledge, and experience to training the next generation of firefighters. The countless hours spent teaching, mentoring, and preparing these members for the fire service do not go unnoticed, and we greatly appreciate everything you do for the fire service and our communities.

Congratulations, Marty, Andrew, and Kola . Keep training, stay motivated, and stay safe.

Yesterday, some of our members spent the day in New Haven training with Signal 73 Fire Training LLC. taking part in live fire training and hands on evolutions. These scenarios are as close to as real as it gets, giving our firefighters the opportunity to sharpen their skills, build teamwork, and operate under pressure in a controlled but intense environment. This type of training is critical to ensuring we’re always ready to respond safely, and effectively when real emergencies happen.

While some of our members were honing their skills, others remained back in the village and answered three separate calls for service.

It takes a team.
