Old Croton Aqueduct State Historic Park

Old Croton Aqueduct State Historic Park Old Croton Aqueduct follows the route of the buried pipe that supplied drinking water to New York City from 1842 to 1955.

The unused pipe remains, but above it is a hiking, biking and walking trail that snakes 26 miles from Croton to the Bronx line.

ALERT: With heavy snow and blizzard-like conditions expected, Governor Cuomo has declared a state of emergency. All state parks, historic sites, and DEC-managed facilities located within the impacted areas, including Suffolk, Nassau, New York City, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, Ulster, Greene, Columbia, Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Montgomery, Saratoga and Washington counties are CLOSED.
