The Town of Rockford was the County Seat of Surry County from 1789-1850. The Village of Rockford is rich in history.

The Rockford General Store has been a constant in this community since 1890, it is still open for business today. An original old fashioned country general store that has been in operation since 1890. Creaky wooden floors, old fashioned candy jars, hoop cheese, Nehi and Crush soft drinks are just a few old timey items you will discover at the Rockford General Store.
