Yesterday evening your Dobson Fire Department was dispatched to help Central Surry Vol Fire Dept and other departments on a large woods fire pending structures. Happy to assist and do whatever it takes. Thanks to those who responded and to everyone that offers water and food.

It was a busy day yesterday for your Dobson Fire Department starting with an early morning 5k which we were glad to help with the traffic control to make sure everyone was safe, and ending with the ground steak festival and touch a truck. Thanks for the support, comments, the many questions that were asked about things, and most of all for just taking the time to stop by and make sure everyone was ok and staying hydrated. Again, thank you for all your support.

It is with profound sadness that Bannertown Volunteer Fire Department mourns the loss of Deputy Logan Utt, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving the citizens of Carroll County.

Logan was not only a dedicated law enforcement officer, but also a member of the Bannertown family, having previously served our community as a paid firefighter. His commitment to helping others, whether wearing a deputy’s badge or a firefighter’s turnout gear, reflected the very best of public service.

Today, we honor Logan’s courage, dedication, and selfless service. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, fellow deputies, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness and unwavering commitment to others.

The fire service and law enforcement communities stand united in grief as we remember a brother who answered the call to serve.

Rest easy, Deputy Utt. We have the watch from here.

A lot of people probably saw us at McDonald’s this evening wondering why a huge fire truck was trying to fit through the drive through (and yes,it will fit around the back). We were asked to help with the changing of the Stars and Stripes 🇺🇸 out front. Anytime we can help we are just a call away.

Thoughts and prayers for both of their families

The deputy who was killed has been identified as Deputy Logan Utt. Utt had served with the Carroll County Sheriff's Office since 2023 and joined after serving in the military.
