Iowa County Government & COVID-19

Over the past few weeks the Iowa County Public Health Department has been participating in conference calls, meetings and webinars with Upland Hills Health, State & Federal Health officials and other County Health Officials. We have been preparing to bring our team's public health knowledge and fortitude to the fight against this Pandemic. We are coordinating with Upland Hills Health, Iowa County Public Safety Agencies, Iowa County Emergency Management and the citizens of Iowa County to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

You, the citizens of Iowa County are part of the team. You alone can slow the spread of the virus. This is important to the Healthcare facilities in order for them to handle the care demands of patients. Please follow precautions as listed.

Our recommendations are as follows:

Wash your hands often, with soap and water. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. Cover your coughs and sneezes with tissues. Disinfect hard surfaces that are regularly touched.

General Public - Avoid group gatherings, keep your distance from others and if you don't feel well, stay home.

Public Safety - Keeping your team healthy is important. Cancel Meetings for the remainder of March and reassess April 1st. Use proper PPE when responding to medical calls. If you're sick, don't respond. Make coverage arrangements.

Workplace - Avoid close contact situations, work from home if possible and if sick, don't go to work.
