City of Doerun The City of Doerun is a thriving community in northern Colquitt County. Come watch us grow! Doerun is located in northern Colquitt County.

The City is home to 774 people as of the 2010 census. Many cotton gins, peanut dryers, and family farms also call Doerun home. A big thank you to our Public Works crew for a long day of work around the City today. They tackled several water leaks, moving from one repair to the next and working hard to keep service interruptions as short as possible.

Natural gas service is temporarily interrupted in the Fincher Avenue and Culpepper Avenue area due to utility work associated with the ongoing Highway 133 construction project.

The contractor for the Georgia Department of Transportation is completing work in the area and expects the interruption to last a few hours. Service will be restored as soon as the work is complete.

Our Public Works Department is repairing several water leaks throughout the City today. We have access to specialized equipment that allows us to make these repairs much faster and keep water interruptions as short as possible, so we’re taking advantage of it to complete several repairs today.

Water may be temporarily interrupted in different areas throughout the day but we expect those interruptions to be brief. We appreciate everyone’s patience!

We are excited to host the 2nd Annual Doerun Fall Fest on October 24, 2026 in Peachtree Park. This year we are adding vendors and a chili cook-off (more details to come). Halloweentown will play on the big screen at 7pm. We will also have a costume contest and children's games. Mark your calendars and join us. Be on the lookout for information on the chili cook off and costume contest.
