Hop on in to the library for April's froggy craft kit, free in the entryway! While you're here, pick up a few Elephant & Piggie books, they're funny for the kids and fun to read for the grownups.

If your school break plans include any local-ish museums or parks, stop in to borrow one of our free passes! Passes may be checked out for a week with your valid Mid York Library card and grant you free or reduced admission to, among others, the Utica Children's Museum and the Utica Zoo.

It's hard to believe, but spring is nigh! Courtesy of Cornell Cooperative Extension Herkimer County, we now have a seed library! Stop in and take some free seeds to grow your own beautiful, delicious plants (we have seeds for vegetables, herbs, and flowers). You're also welcome to bring seeds to contribute to your neighbors' gardens.

Coming soon at the library...

As part of our Community Roots program, funded by the Community Foundation Herkimer and Oneida Counties grant, we're proud to announce that we will be distributing seed libraries to all public libraries in Herkimer County that expressed interest!

These seed libraries will give community members free access to a variety of seeds to help grow gardens, support local food systems, and encourage hands-on learning for all ages.
