Wildfire Awareness Month is here and in full swing! 🔥

As the weather becomes warmer and wildland vegetation, or fuels, begin to dry out, it is time to plan for the wildfires.

During a wildfire, embers cause most home ignitions. Residents can harden homes minimizing property damage and protecting firefighters. Help reduce putting firefighters and communities at risk by hardening your home to ember intrusion and creating defensible space on private property.

⚠️ YOU ARE DOING THIS.👇
A habit that can quietly lead to danger. 🔋🔥
Charging your phone, power bank, or gadget feels harmless- routine, even.
But where and how you charge matters more than most people realize.
Battery fires don’t always start with flames.
They often begin with heat buildup, swelling, or invisible gas release usually when no one is watching.
That charger on the bed.
That device left plugged in overnight.
That phone charging beside where you sleep.
These small habits can turn into big emergencies.
🔥 Be fire-smart:
• Avoid overnight charging
• Keep devices off beds, sofas, and pillows
• Charge in open, visible areas
• Stop using devices that feel hot, swell, hiss, or smell unusual
⚡ Safety doesn’t start when smoke appears.
It starts before you plug in.
Protect your home. Protect your family.
Change the habit—before it becomes a fire.
