Words cannot express how saddened we are for the lives lost fighting the fight to protect and serve our communities, and of those of people we may never meet. We choose to battle for humanity. Bless the souls who gave their all to protect all others who continue in their absence. Sending our deepest condolences to family and friends of those who are no longer with us, and for those injured in this terrible tragedy. I ask that just for a moment you pause in your chaotic life to pray for their families and the safety and well-being for all other responders battling this fire and all others around the country.

Due to the incredible support of our local communities wanting to help with donations to support responders during this terrible critical fire season, donations can be made as follows:

Drop- off date will be Wednesday, July 1st from 10:00 am - to 4:00 pm.

Drop-off sites:

Mancos Fire Department: 41595 Hwy 160, Mancos
Lewis/Pleasant View Fire Departments: Hwy 491 Rd.W (Lewis Grange)
Cortez Fire Department : 31 N. Washington St, Cortez
Dolores Fire Department: 47 Central Ave, Dolores
Rico Fire: 119 S. Glasgow Ave, Rico

Items accepted will be non-perishable food, water/electrolyte replenishing drinks and powders, personal size hygiene items, and individual sized ibuprofen, Tylenol, etc.

We are grateful for the incredible suport and concern for the safety and well-being of our responders. Thank you!!!

The members of Dolores Volunteer Fire & Rescue are pleased to welcome San Juan Team 8, our local Type 3 Incident Management Team, as they manage the Ferris and Doe Canyon fires.

During the incident, Team 8 will be operating out of both of our fire station buildings in town, as well as the grassy area on the east side of the station and the Dog House on the west side. As a result, you'll notice increased traffic and activity around our facilities.

When you see the team around town, please join us in giving them a warm Dolores welcome. Their work is critical to coordinating the response and supporting the firefighters working to protect our communities.

We're still here if you need us! While our station buildings will be closed to the public during this time, emergency services are continuing without interruption.
