The current physical facility was built in 2004.

The Dolores Public Library functions as a traditional public library – providing both print and digital information. The Library plays a leading role in the community as a meeting place, a technology/training center, and a place to just relax and read. The facility is conveniently located near the local schools and the post office and is just off the major highway running through the town. Collect

ion and Materials
The Library’s collection as of July 2022 is 22,080. The Library is a member of a consortium that allows for interlibrary loans (borrowing books from other libraries). Community Outreach/Programs
The Library offers the community a wide range of promotional activities and programs. These include:
• Story Time
• Summer Reading Program
• After-school programs
• Book club

Other programs, classes, training sessions, and various workshops and seminars are being developed for future opportunities. Equipment/Technology
Technology is essential for the Library’s operations and community outreach and programs. There are 13 computer workstations available for the community, as well as several laptops. The Library has two T-1 lines and free WIFI. Other public services equipment includes a fax machine and copier. Funding
The Library’s primary source of funding is property tax (82%), and a mill levy.

Pi Day Challenge! Attention kids and teens!
Memorize as many digits of Pi as you can, then visit the library to recite them to a staff member on Friday, March 13th, or Saturday, March 14th!

Whoever can recite the most digits of Pi will win a $31.41 Walmart gift card!

There will be separate categories for Kids ages 5-12 and Teens ages 13-18 HEAD ON OVER TO THE LIBRARY AT 1:00 ON FRIDAY, MARCH13TH FOR A PRE-PI DAY PARTY! WE WILL HAVE PIZZA FROM THE ITALIAN AND PIES FROM THE DOLORES FOOD MARKET, AS WELL AS LOTS OF PI-THEMED ACTIVITIES!
