Hot Spring County Transitions Emergency Alert System to Hyper-Reach

The Hot Spring County Department of Emergency Management (DEM) announces it has transitioned its emergency mass notification system from CodeRED to Hyper-Reach to ensure continued, reliable public safety communications.

This change follows a recent cybersecurity incident involving CodeRED that disrupted service and rendered the system unreliable for emergency alerting. Due to the outage and ongoing operational concerns, Hot Spring County OEM determined the system could no longer meet the county’s emergency communication needs.

Hyper-Reach provides a secure, dependable platform for delivering critical alerts, including severe weather warnings, evacuation notices, public safety threats, missing person alerts, and other time-sensitive information. Notifications can be delivered via phone calls, text messages, emails, and mobile app alerts.

IMPORTANT: Residents previously registered with CodeRED must re-register to continue receiving emergency alerts.

🏠 Use the Correct Address: Be sure to select the correct street address so location-specific emergency alerts reach you.
• State Highways (9, 51, 84, 128, 171, 222) are under “State Route”
• U.S. Highways (67, 270) will be listed as “US Highway”

How to sign up for Hyper-Reach:
• Visit: www.hyper-reach.com/arhotspringsignup.html
• Call or Text (501) 229-6656
• Scan the attached QR Code.

Hot Spring County DEM strongly encourages all residents and businesses to register as soon as possible.

Arkansas will see elevated fire danger statewide on Tuesday due to low relative humidity, above-normal temperatures, and strong winds. We urge all Arkansans to avoid any outdoor burning. Even a small spark can quickly turn into a wildfire under these conditions.

The entire state is currently at a moderate wildfire risk, with several northern and northwestern counties at high risk.

Burn bans are in effect for: Benton, Boone, Carroll, Cleburne, Hempstead, Independence, Johnson, Lafayette, Madison, Searcy, Sharp, Van Buren, and White counties.

Conditions can change quickly. View current fire danger levels and burn ban information here:

Please be very cautious! One spark of that fire you started tonight that gets out of control tomorrow could burn down your house, barn, neighbors house, vehicles, etc. The winds will be extremely high this weekend and humidity will be low making fire danger high.

We are not currently under a burn ban and we know you want to burn, but we ask that you refrain from burning at this time. There have been multiple grass fires in our area and in the county, due to the low humidity and high winds. When the humidity it low, the fire danger is high. Thank you!
