We are pleased to announce we received 2,352 cans of emergency drinking water that allows us to stay hydrated! This water is used on emergency scenes in Donalsonville and surrounding communities. Big thanks to Donalsonville Fire Rescue s personnel for accepting the water from Albany Beverage Company on our behalf!

We were honored to deliver 2,352 cans of emergency drinking water to the local heroes at Seminole County Volunteer Fire Rescue, as part of Anheuser-Busch’s nationwide effort to prepare first responders before disaster strikes. On behalf of Albany Beverage Company and our partners at Anheuser-Busch and National Volunteer Fire Council, thank you to the volunteers who dedicate their free time to keeping our community safe. 🌲 INCIDENT REPORT 🌲

📋 Type: Brush / Wildland Fire
📅 Date: Tuesday, May 19, 2026
🕐 Time: 2:00 PM
📍 Location: Highway 253 Near Ranger Station Road

A brush fire was accidentally started from roadwork. The fire spread into the wooded area from the side of the road becoming nearly 4 acres in size before containment.

🚒 Units Responding: One Engine, One Tanker, and One Brush Truck
🤝 Mutual Aid: Georgia Forestry and Seminole County Sheriff's Department with drone support.
✅ Outcome: Fire was confined and controlled within a couple hours. No real property was damaged or destroyed.
🩹 No injuries reported.

Reminder to all of our followers, It is still dry even with the rain. Even with safety procedures in place fires can become an emergency very quickly.

Seminole County Volunteer Fire Rescue is proud to announce the receipt of a new digital camera kit from Georgia Arson Control to support fire investigations in Seminole County.

This equipment will help our investigators better document fire scenes, collect critical evidence, and assist in determining the origin and cause of fires throughout our community. Scene documentation is a vital part of fire investigations and can aid in identifying accidental causes, electrical failures, or potential criminal activity.

We greatly appreciate the continued support from Georgia Arson Control and their commitment to strengthening fire investigation capabilities across the state.

Thank you to all of our firefighters, investigators, and partner agencies who work tirelessly to keep Seminole County safe. 🔥📸

Seminole County Volunteer Fire Rescue is proud to announce the receipt of two important grants that will help improve firefighter and public safety across Seminole County and surrounding communities.

Golden Triangle Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) awarded a grant to SCVFR for 80 traffic cones, that will be utilized on emergency scenes for traffic control, responder safety, and scene management. These cones will soon be distributed among all Seminole County fire stations to better equip our firefighters during roadway incidents and emergencies.

The second grant was awarded by Georgia Forestry Commission, for fire nozzles by High Efficiency Nozzles (HEN). Their design helps fire crews rapidly cool fire conditions, improve fire knockdown capabilities, and increase overall effectiveness during interior and exterior fire attacks. They too will be in service, in Seminole County fire stations, soon.

These grants continue to strengthen the capabilities of our department and improve the level of service we provide to the citizens of Seminole County and our neighboring communities.

We sincerely thank Golden Triangle RC&D and Georgia Forestry Commission for their continued support in the fire service and public safety.

🔥 Update: South Georgia Burn Restrictions Eased

Governor Kemp has issued an executive order easing outdoor burning restrictions in parts of South Georgia.

While this is a step in the right direction, burning is still restricted in 17 South Georgia counties, as shown on the map below. These areas continue to face extreme drought and elevated wildfire risk.

⚠️ What to know:
➡️ Some counties are now allowed to resume limited outdoor burning
➡️ Others remain under restrictions due to ongoing fire danger
➡️ Conditions can change quickly—always check before you burn

Even where restrictions have been eased, extreme caution is still critical. Dry conditions remain across much of the state, and it only takes one spark to start a wildfire.

NO BURNING——Due to ongoing drought conditions and dry vegetation, Seminole County still remains under a burn ban despite recent rainfall. One rain event is not enough to reduce fire danger across our area.
