Happy National High-Five Day!

This morning we spent time at Central Lee Community School District welcoming students with high-fives, smiles, and encouragement to help start their day off right!

We appreciate the opportunity to join Donnellson - West Point Police Department- Iowa, Lee County Emergency Medical Services, Lee County Iowa Sheriff's Office, and LeeComm - Lee County Consolidated Dispatch in creating positive interactions between the students and their local first responders.

Proud to be Central Lee!

Winston Churchill once said “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”

We recently gathered to celebrate Jason Fowler and Dave Newton. Jason and Dave both retired last year after selflessly dedicating over 15 years of service to the community.

Jason was a member of the Donnellson Fire Department for more than 17 years. In addition to being a firefighter, Jason was also an Emergency Medical Responder.

Dave was a member of the Donnellson Fire Department for more than 20 years. Dave was also an Emergency Medical Responder several years and was promoted to captain in 2019.

Thank you Dave, Jason, and your families for your sacrifice and dedication to the citizens and visitors that we serve.

🚨 Important Student Safety Event 🚨
Central Lee High School will host a Drunk & Distracted Driving Simulation on April 2 at 9:00 a.m.
This powerful, real-life scenario—led by local law enforcement and emergency responders—helps students understand the serious consequences of impaired and distracted driving.
Following the simulation, students will participate in guided discussions to reflect on the experience and the importance of making safe choices behind the wheel.

Emergency responses to motor vehicle crashes happen often. Knowing how to manage these dynamic and dangerous situations helps keep responders and patients safe.

This weekend we were able to host a 2 day vehicle extrication class taught by Complete Rescue Solutions . Topics included basic extrication techniques, stabilization, vehicle movement, underrides, and more. We were joined by firefighters from Denmark Fire & Rescue and Farmington, Iowa Fire Department.

Thank you to Pilot Grove Savings Bank and Seither & Cherry for helping fund this class.

We also want to thank Paul Rairden and Rairden's Auto Salvage & Towing for allowing us to use their yard and getting us the number of cars needed to complete this training.

Thank you to Grass Roots Market & Cafe and The Stumble Inn for providing coffee, breakfast, and lunch both days.

Lastly, we would like to thank Rob Danker for moving cars around to create scenarios.

We are fortunate to have such a supportive community and truly appreciate each and every person that made this training possible.
