Dear Post 1018 Comrades, My name is Warren Hunt. I live in Michigan, and am a life member of both the VFW and the VVA (Chapter 35, Toledo, Ohio). I am also a retired active duty Army E-7, beginning with service in Vietnam in 68-69 with the First Infantry Division. In 2018 I published a memoir, “Reflections on the Vietnam War: A Fifty-Year Journey,” an overview of what the Vietnam Era looked like to me. It covers the span of time from when I was in high school, through my Army service in Nam, culminating with my attendance at the dedication of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. in 1982. The book is available at amazon.com in paperback as well as Kindle format. A link to my book’s website is attached here: www.facebook.com/rvw50. This memoir has been included by Bowling Green State University and Lourdes University as part of the reading list for their classes on the Vietnam War. In addition, it has received positive reviews from well-known literary publications, including Manhattan Book Review, Publishers Weekly/Book Life, and the VVA Veteran: Books in Review (Henry Zeybel). In April of 2018 an excerpt from my book appeared in a special commemorative issue of USA Today: “Echoes from Vietnam.” “Reflections on the Vietnam War: A Fifty-Year Journey” has been well-received by readers; including Vietnam veterans and their family members. Many non-veterans, especially younger people, have also found it enlightening as an aid to gaining a broader perspective on the Vietnam War era. I am now in the process of sharing my work with local veterans organizations; not to make money, but because I have been told I should share it by so many people who find it an inspiring and informative read. Best wishes to your post members for a safe and pleasant summer. Sincerely, Warren Hunt Vietnam 68-69

Hi, I am an OIF Navy veteran and I am currently pursing a doctor of nursing degree. As part of my curriculum, I am conducting a research study on mental health stigma among OEF/OIF veterans. I am asking for help reaching these veterans for participation. I have created a page for the study that contains a link to a short (about 10min), anonymous questionnaire. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. https://www.facebook.com/Exploring-mental-health-stigma-among-Iraq-and-Afghanistan-veterans-171691220174338/

"Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds," — Robert Oppenheimer Tomorrow, Sunday, July 16, 2017, is the 72nd anniversary of the first ever nuclear explosion. In remembrance, Amazon and I are giving away free copies of my eBook Kilroy Was Here: The Rest of the story; all day Sunday. All we request is that you let me know what you think before the paperback comes out — leave a review! At 5:29:45 a.m. on July 16, 1945, a 19-kiloton plutonium bomb, the first in history, was exploded at Trinity near Alamogordo, New Mexico. It created a mushroom cloud rising 41,000 ft. The bomb emitted heat three times the temperature of the interior of the sun and wiped out all plant and animal life within a mile. The book that includes this history is offered free on the anniversary of that date so you can read all about it. See the site looked like in 2002, the timeline, the History. the theory, the reason, and Humanitarian Considerations. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072KW3R7M/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1497728213&sr=1-1&keywords=Kilroy%2Bwas%2Bhere%3A%2BThe%2BRest%2Bof%2Bthe%2Bstory
BROKEN ARROW! Is the USAF code name for a lost nuclear weapon. The weapon used at Hiroshima was a mere fifteen kiloton bomb. The Mark-15 had a yield of 1.6 to 3.9 Megatons. It was lost in the water near the American coast and has never been found. Where?
