NHTSA Recall ID Number : 26C006

Synopsis : Britax Child Safety, Inc. (Britax) is recalling certain B-Safe Gen 2, B-Safe Gen 2 Flexfit, B-Safe Gen 2 Flexfit Plus, B-Safe 35, B-Safe Ultra, and Endeavours child seats. Please refer to Britax's recall report for the specific models. A screw in the child seat carrying handle may come loose, causing the handle to partially detach. A child may fall after a partial detachment, increasing the risk of injury.

The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by October 19, 2026. Owners may contact Britax customer service at 888-427-4829.

Today we conducted pump testing at Dormont Pool on 130 Truck and Engine. This is an annual requirement to ensure our apparatus can supply water to our firefighters when they need it most.

(Also just an excuse to play in the pool!)

TRAINING RECAP 🚒🪚🪜

This week, our firefighters reviewed the complement of saws carried on our apparatus and sharpened their skills throwing extension ladders.

Several members have attended outside training with ladders over the past month, bringing back some fresh techniques and tactics for the rest of the department to put into practice.

Crews also worked on safely lowering both conscious and unconscious victims down ladders, an important skill when traditional exits aren’t an option.

There’s Still Time: Volunteer for the Dormont Dash

Seeking volunteer hours or want to give back to your community? Please consider volunteering for the Dormont Dash - being held this Sunday, August 30, beginning at 8 AM. Volunteers are needed to help stop traffic at intersections where walkers and runners pass. It usually involves an hour time commitment.

The Dormont Dash is a decades-long South Hills tradition, and one of the most challenging, hilly, and fun 5K races in the area!

Presented by the Borough of Dormont Recreation Board, all proceeds raised from the 5K run and 1-mile fun run benefits the Keystone Oaks Education Association Memorial Scholarship Fund.

The race begins and ends at the iconic Dormont Pool, and the course allows runners and walkers to enjoy the beauty of the park and the charming community of Dormont.

Mutual aid means never letting your neighbors take a cool photo alone...

We always enjoy the opportunity to train alongside the volunteers of Mt. Lebanon Fire Department and surrounding companies. The more we train together, the better we work together when the tones drop.

(Because we train together so often, we just let MLFD photobomb family photos now)
