For the past 7 seasons, Gary Graybarz has been much more than the welcoming face at The Dorset Quarry — he has been a huge part of what makes this place special. Gary has greeted countless visitors with his personality, humor, and steady presence, helping create memories not just for our guests, but for all of us as well.

It is hard to put into words how grateful we are for everything Gary has done over the years. His leadership, dedication, and the way he cared about people left a lasting mark on the quarry and on everyone lucky enough to know him.

This season Gary has decided to retire from the quarry to spend more time with his family, and while we are excited for him and this next chapter, there is no question that he will be deeply missed. He will be missed by our family, our staff, and by the many guests who looked forward to seeing him each season (especially those with Connecticut plates 😉).

Gary, thank you for all the laughs, all the hard work, and all the memories. You have been a part of our family since 1995, and your impact will never be forgotten.

Please help us celebrate Gary and his family by sharing any favorite memories or stories you may have in the comments..

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) Traffic Safety Committee has approved a request from the Town of Dorset to extend the NO PARKING ZONE on both sides of Route 30 south to Raptor Lane. The existing NO PARKING ZONES along Snow Road and Blackrock Lane remain in effect.

This change was requested by the Town of Dorset and approved by VTrans Traffic Safety Committee. This zone will be enforced by the Vermont State Police and Bennington County Sheriff’s Department.

We ask that any questions or frustrations regarding these roadside parking changes not be directed toward our gate staff. Many of our team members are young seasonal employees whose role is to help visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience. They are not involved in town or state decisions regarding parking changes and are simply there to assist guests and do their jobs.

Free parking is available at the Dorset Town office parking lot located at 200 Raptor Lane, Dorset, VT 05251.
