Cooling Zones
As the weather begins to warm up now and into the summer months, Merced County and its cities are making cooling zones available to help residents cope with the heat. The locations listed will be available during the specified days / times to be used as cooling zones if needed. These cooling zones will be active June 1 — October 31, 2026.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY WATER SHUTOFF

Please be advised that water service will be temporarily interrupted beginning Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. Service is anticipated to be restored by approximately 5:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026.
This temporary service interruption is necessary to allow the City to make preparations for connections to the new water plant.
The City will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this time.

The conservation notice has been lifted, but please follow our conservation program below:
If your residential street address ends with an odd number, your watering days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. If your residential street address ends with an even number, your watering days are Sunday, Wednesday, and Friday. No watering is allowed on Mondays. No watering is allowed between the hours of 11:00 am and 7:00 pm on any day.
You may wash your car if the water source has an automatic shutoff to prevent runoff. Commercially-zoned properties are currently exempt from odd/even watering limits.
New plantings of less than one year, such as new lawns or ground coverings, may be watered every day between the hours of 7:00 pm and 11:00 am. If you have difficulty in adjusting your sprinklers, please call City Hall at 392-2174 to arrange for Public Works assistance.

🚨 Water Conservation Notice – City of Dos Palos 🚨
The City of Dos Palos is asking all residents to please conserve water and limit usage to essential household needs only until further notice.
Due to an algae buildup in the California Aqueduct, the siphon pipe has become plugged, affecting our water supply operations.
We are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience, understanding, and cooperation during this time. Every effort to conserve water helps ensure we can continue providing essential water service to our community.

Water Service Notice
Water service is off due to a water line break on Almond Street between Golden Gate Avenue and California Avenue. Crews are responding, and there is currently no estimated time for repair. We appreciate your patience and will share updates as they become available.

Due to a water break the water will be off on the 1500 blocks of Ida Street, Mable Avenue, and Palo Alto Street for approximately 3 hours. Thank you for you patience.
