Kristen is a familiar face around Wiregrass Hope and we're excited to have her as part of our Counseling Team!

"Hi, I'm Kristen Kite! I'm currently completing my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Troy University. For more than 10 years, I've worked with families at Wiregrass Hope, mentoring, teaching parenting classes, and supporting men and women through the early stages of parenthood.

During that time, I met many women experiencing postpartum depression. After building relationships with them through mentoring, I would often refer them to another counselor when they needed additional support. Those experiences inspired me to go back to school to become a counselor.

My experience working with families has given me a special interest in working with women, young families, and people navigating unexpected seasons of life. I am currently participating in training through Troy University with a focus on infant and early childhood mental health, as well as training in couples counseling through the Gottman Institute.

My faith is an important part of who I am and influences the way I care for others. Whether your faith is central to your life, you're questioning it, or it isn't part of your story at all, you are welcome here. My goal is to provide a calm, welcoming space where you feel seen, heard, and supported."

Meet baby Khylan! This sweet little man was born recently to one of our clients. When this birth mom first came to WHG she was considering an abortion, but after talking with our team and seeing her baby on an ultrasound she changed her mind. She completed all our classes in the pregnancy program, accepted Christ, and graduated from high school! We are so proud of this mom and grateful to the Lord for the work we get to see Him doing through the ministry of Wiregrass Hope each and every day!

We're so thankful to have Amy as one of our amazing counselors at Wiregrass Hope Counseling Center!

"I’m Amy Edge, an Associate Licensed and Christian counselor in Dothan, AL. Since I believe God made our whole being, I take an integrative approach to your mental health. God is the one in charge of our healing, and He has provided a template for healthy living in many ways, whether it is spiritually, mentally, or physically.

In our sessions, you will find an active listener who will sit with you in your pain and help you find hope and solutions for the future. I have experience with trauma-related issues, depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, grief, and marriage. I work with adults, teenagers, and marriages. I am a wife, parent, and grandparent. I understand many of the struggles of middle age. I spent many years teaching Community Bible Study, working in the church, and running a Christian non-profit. These experiences give me perspective in the counseling room.

I completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. I am trained in John Townsend’s model of character development, including attachment, boundaries, integration, and adulthood. I like to combine Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (renewing your mind), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (emotional regulation and self-control), Internal Family Systems (parts work and freedom from patterns of behavior), somatic skills (calming the nervous system), and faith-based techniques (guided experiences of prayer, forgiveness, and experiences with the Lord).

I became a licensed counselor because I wanted more skills and understanding to help people deal with their pasts and move into their future with confidence and peace. I feel called to help set people free."

Meet Reagan, our Wiregrass Hope Counseling Center Director and Counselor! (Give our Counseling Center Page a follow!)

"My name is Reagan Farris. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and ordained pastor who is passionate about helping adolescents, adults, and couples experience lasting healing and growth in a safe, caring, and judgment-free environment. I believe that every person deserves to be heard with respect, understood with compassion, and supported with care as they navigate life’s challenges.

I work with concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, sexual addiction, family conflict, betrayal recovery, divorce recovery, spiritual crisis, and personal development. My goal is to help you not only find relief from present struggles, but for you to discover your capacity to grow and thrive in every arena of life and become all that God has made you to be. The ultimate aim is that you experience what Jesus promised we would find in relationship with Him, “I have come that you would have life and have it abundantly.”

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Townsend Institute at Concordia University, where I was trained in research-informed models with a strong emphasis on character development: attachment, healthy boundaries, integration, and thriving adulthood.

My counseling approach integrates evidence-based therapies such as attachment-based therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, somatic work, cognitive and behavioral interventions, trauma-informed care, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, all through the lens of a Christian worldview and directed by biblical truth. Each session is prayerfully tailored to your unique needs and goals. I also provide marriage and premarital counseling, helping couples build stronger, healthier, Christ-centered relationships and families.

In addition to my clinical work, I have served in full-time Christian ministry as an ordained pastor and student pastor. That combination of theological grounding and clinical training allows me to offer care that is compassionate, practical, and rooted in truth."
