WATER SAFETY MONTH: What to Wear at the River! π
Before you wade in this summer, your swimsuit color matters more than you think:
β
Bright Neon Colors (orange, yellow, lime green, hot pink) β Highly visible in and out of the water. Easiest for lifeguards and others to spot quickly in an emergency.
β
Red or Royal Blue β Still solid visibility choices, especially against murky river water. A good backup to neon.
β Dark Colors (black, navy, dark green, brown) β Blend into river water and riverbanks almost immediately. Hardest to spot if someone goes under.
β Camouflage Patterns β Designed to disappear into natural surroundings. Never a good choice near open water.
Rivers move differently than pools β currents, depth changes, and murky water make visibility critical. Wearing the right color could make all the difference in an emergency.
When in doubt, go bright. Be seen, stay safe.
