The Douds Fire Department would like to recognize and celebrate Dan on an incredible milestone—20 years of dedicated service with Van Buren County Hospital.

For two decades, Dan has served his community as a Paramedic, providing compassionate care and steady professionalism in moments when it matters most. His commitment doesn’t stop there. As a firefighter and Paramedic first responder with the Douds Fire Department, Dan continually goes above and beyond, answering the call whenever duty arises—day or night.

We are incredibly fortunate to have someone like Dan serving and supporting our community. Thank you, Dan, for your 20 years of service, your unwavering dedication, and the example you set for us all.

Join us in celebrating an incredible milestone! 🎉

Today, we’re proud to recognize Dan, one of our dedicated paramedics in the ER, for 20 years of service at Van Buren County Hospital.

Whether it’s a high-pressure emergency or a reassuring word when it’s needed most, Dan exemplifies what it means to serve our community with heart.

You may see him in the ambulance or in the Emergency Room but he is always there for the patients of Van Buren County!

**🚨 Burn Advisory Notice 🚨**

Due to current dry conditions and windy weather, our department strongly advises **no outdoor burning today**. These conditions significantly increase the risk of fires spreading quickly and becoming dangerous.

We ask all residents to postpone any planned burning until weather conditions improve.

If you choose to burn and the fire begins to spread or gets out of control, **call 911 immediately**. Quick notification allows us to respond faster and prevent further damage.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping keep our community safe.

— Douds Fire and EMS

Elevated fire weather conditions are ongoing across southern Iowa today and will expand statewide on Tuesday. Warm, dry conditions paired with gusty winds will make it easy for fires to spread. Burning is not advised!
