We had three of the six 2026 4th grade essay winners, representing Glenrock and Douglas, read their winning essays this morning in our 1885 Pleasant View (Valley) School House. This year was the 31st year the Wyoming Pioneer Museum along with the Wyoming Pioneer Association has had this contest. All winning essays are held at the library within the museum and available to read since 1995.

During the Wyoming State Fair, we are displaying a quilt from our permanent collection. This quilt has 48 of the 50 state birds and state flowers hand embroidered on the quilt. The pattern was from a McCalls or Good Housekeeping magazine prior to Alaska or Hawaii becoming states. It is currently on display in the Museum’s library thru the month of August.
