Coffee County Health Department Our mission is to promote and protect the health of people in Southeast Georgia by providing various programs and clinic services.

Our goal is to share ideas and information with as many individuals as possible, and our policy is to accept comments made to our profile. While we encourage those who visit our page(s) to share thoughts and opinions on our Southeast Health District and county-specific health department pages, we expect that this will be done in a respectful manner. National HIV Testing Day is observed annually on June 27 to raise awareness about the importance of HIV testing and to inform individuals of their status. This year, the Southeast Health District and Walgreens have partnered to bring HIV testing opportunities to your community! We will be offering rapid HIV testing on Thursday, June 25, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Walgreens (602 Peterson Ave South, Douglas, GA 31533).

This is a reminder to avoid contact with wild or unknown animals and to keep your pets up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations. If an animal ever bites you, seek medical care immediately and report the bite to your local health department.

While the summer season hasn't officially begun, the heat is certainly already here! We know many days of high temperatures are ahead over the next few months, including this coming weekend.

Afternoon heat index values of 100-105° are possible beginning this Friday and going through Sunday, and we want to share a few reminders to keep you, your family, and those around you safe during times of higher temperatures and heat index values!

Here are 4 tips to help you keep your cool:
🥤💧Drink plenty of water.
🚴Limit outdoor activity during the daytime.
👕Wear loose, light-colored clothing.
🚗Never leave children or pets in the car for any length of time!
