We Support PA
The idea? To offer financial relief to PA businesses by way of an online portal – a portal that offers merchandise for sale with the express purpose of donating proceeds directly to Pennsylvania business owners. During times like this, it's not easy to know how to support your local business -- some are open and offering limited services, while others were forced to close for an unspecified time period. And throughout these perilous economic conditions, they all have overhead to cover, and employees counting on them for salaries and benefits. Help is coming from the government, but will it be enough? There’s no telling how long this shut down will last, and looking at this over an even longer period of time, there is no telling how long it will take our economy to recover.
That's why we decided to start this initiative – to bring attention to the importance of Pennsylvania businesses while providing a humble source of financial relief. In a nutshell, we’re selling t-shirts sporting the logos of participating PA businesses – they’ll also feature “We Support PA” branding. We’ll keep enough from each sale to cover basic costs, but we’re donating the profit directly to businesses (e.g., if you purchase a Fork & Ale t-shirt, proceeds go directly to Fork & Ale). We estimate the average commission paid will be 50% of the total dollars collected.
None of the items we’re selling are high dollar, but things like this can keep the lights on – and the cash flowing – for local businesses.
